Specialist help with planning requirements

Generally, planning permission is required for floodlighting. Your council planning department will advise you if a formal application is required in your area. If so, we can assist by supplying you with the necessary design information, lux levels etc.

The Benefits of Buying with AMSS

We are always happy to look at your special requirements, and advise on the complete schemes that we offer.

We can also place lamps on poles to light car parks, foot paths etc.

AMlight Classic

All AMlight Classic systems are designed to give excellent lighting of single tennis courts for recreational use. They are based on the use of six-metre high, 95mm diameter light alloy poles, which are powder- coated black to give a durable finish and more pleasing appearance. These poles are fitted with a hinge assembly at the base, which permits the columns to be folded down, allowing easy maintenance of the lamps when required without the necessity of a scaffold tower.

On our standard systems, with one or two lamps per pole, this is achieved by one reasonably fit person. We offer two types of lamp, giving equivalent performance in terms of illumination.

Quartz-Halogen lamps (8000, 9000 systems) give instant switch on, and excellent white light for good colour rendition, but are relatively expensive to run at about 66 pence per hour for electricity and replacement, lamps, assuming 1000 hour life.

Metal-Halide lamps (2400 system) are more economical to run at about 23 pence per hour, assuming 6000 hour life and give about 30% more light in an equivalent configuration.

These lamps also give a bright white light, and take about five minutes to reach full operating efficiency from switch on.

Quartz-Halogen lamps are appropriate where usage is relatively low, or when instant illumination is required, and if a high capacity supply is available. Metal-Halide lamps are appropriate where high usage is envisaged, or the power supply is inadequate for Quartz-Halogen.

Enjoy the Power of AMLight Pro

AMlight Pro systems are custom designed to give match standard lighting of single or multiple tennis courts. They are based on the use of eight metre high fixed steel columns with conventional projector floodlights or six metre high box fittings where required by environmental considerations. We only use Metal-Halide lamps.

Equipment supplied

The AMlight Classic system is supplied as pre-wired and tested lamps and poles, with hinged base plates erected and aligned.

On all systems, provision is made for termination of incoming supply cables in a weatherproof box near the base of each column.

As the materials required for provision of the electrical supply will vary these are not provided. We find it most economic to the customer for them to arrange provision of an electrical supply by a local contractor, but we will happily quote for a complete installation package on request.

AMlight PRO systems are offered as a complete package including cabling and ducting.
